Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to a new school year. It is a pleasure to be sending out my first letter as the new Headteacher of Hilltop First School. The staff have made me feel most welcome and I have enjoyed the many smiles and greetings I have had from the children today.
I was able to spend a few days in Hilltop during the summer term which gave me the opportunity to meet the staff and experience some of the magic of Hilltop first hand. Mrs Clark and I met on a number of occasions to ensure as smooth a transition as possible and I am very grateful to her for all of her support and encouragement during this handover.
During my visits, I encountered many of your lovely children and look forward to spending some time in each of the classes over the coming weeks getting to know them. I believe that self-confidence and a love of learning are key foundations for success and my priority will be to nurture these attributes in each child who passes through our school. I hope you will join me in having high aspirations for your children.
I know the staff are committed to Hilltop’s vision to create and maintain a school that gives its children the best possible outcomes they can have and it is a privilege to lead this dedicated team. I would like to thank them all for the time they have put into preparing their classrooms and resources for a great start to a new year. Together we will continue to provide an outstanding learning environment for your children.
I highly value the contribution that you as parents and carers make to the growth and learning of your children and want to build on the positive relationship that the school already has with the parent community. It would be lovely to meet as many of you as possible soon. I will be near the gates each morning so please do come and say hello. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s learning and school life please do not hesitate to get in touch with me via the school office.
I would like to thank you for your continued commitment and support for the staff and pupils of our school.
